My name is Martin and I set up Tall Tail Pets as it has long been my ambition to work with animals….

I grew up in a family that always owned cats and dogs and I loved having them around, however, it was not until I went away to University that I realised how much of a part they played in my life and how much I missed having them around. After leaving university, I joined the Metropolitan Police where I was employed for 16 years, serving in various front line roles before qualifying as a Detective Constable, spending the majority of my time working on serious and complex investigations.

I enjoyed my time in the police but I could not shake the desire to work with and care for animals so Tall Tail Pets has been long in the planning. The aspiration to spend more time with my young son now he is at school was the final push I needed to leave the security of the police and start my own venture.

I am experienced with cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes having owned Rhodesian Ridgebacks, rescue Moggies and French Bulldogs. My current assistant is Cliff the Frenchie, who is a very laid back and well-tempered dog with a passion for playing with other dogs and a fondness for laying in any gathering of water, be it a paddling pool or a puddle!

Tall Tail Pets is fully insured by Cliverton Insurance, who specialise in animal related businesses, with pets being transported in a fully air conditioned van, fitted with secure cages, non-slip beds and a pet first aid kit. I have been DBS checked by the Police and am first aid trained (certificates of which can be produced on request.) I am honest, trustworthy, and reliable and will take great care of your beloved pets, giving you peace of mind that they are being well looked after in your absence and that any house visits, collections and drops offs are being carried out by a security conscious former police officer.

Dog walking areas covered are Biggin Hill, Westerham, Orpington, Green St Green and surrounding areas. Please note that depending on availability, I may be able to provide a service to areas outside those stated above, however, there may be a surcharge to cover travel and time costs.
